Occupational thoughts

Covering life on the home front.

Yesterday I bought a new bike at the Oxford Cycle Workshop, this is it:

newbikeWe walked down Cowley road and Peter bought some weird little biscuits from an oriental shop (Not sure whether it was Chines, Japanese or Korean. I am an ignorant Westerner). And we saw a man dressed up as Batman. Cowley is such a bizarre place when compared with the white, urban district of North Oxford. Here’s a little tip for town planners on the councils: Diversity is good.
Those biscuits have got a little strawberry aftertaste in the filling. Mmmmm.

Oh, and I finished Matthew Brzezinski’s book Casino Moscow about corruption in the Soviet Union and life as a ‘foreign corespondent’ for the Wall Street Journal. It wasn’t that good because it took me about a month to read it. It was interesting though. I’ve read his book about Sputnik. I’ll read his third book: Fortress America some other time.
